Moccasin Flats : Season Three - Drama – English – 8 x 30

Things are changing quickly in Moccasin Flats. Matthew is growing increasingly frustrated with Red, who hasn’t written a decent song in months and seems to be more interested in doting on Candy than making music. Red is coming to terms with the fact that he and Matthew don’t see eye to eye creatively and decides to take a break from music altogether and focus on his relationship. Candy, now running Sweetgrass Safety Services at the North Central Community Centre, is overwhelmed at work trying desperately to find out who is pimping a new group of very young girls in the Flats.

Candy decides to take matters into her own hands when she comes to terms with the fact that everyone around her is caught in their own twisted web of sex, lies and betrayal to notice that the world around them has come apart at the seams. Unfortunately for Candy, this includes Corporal Amanda Strongeagle, her only ally on the police force, who is too wrapped up in her complicated love life to care. Candy launches her own investigation and risks her life trying to find the pimp and put him behind bars. Things start looking up when she befriends the young prostitutes, and slowly gets closer to uncovering the truth, until tragedy strikes.

Although the tragedy serves as a wake up call to the community, Candy realizes that the only way to effect real change is to take a stand on her own, and not depend on the police, her friends or her community. And that is exactly what she does. By returning to her culture, to prayer, to her ancestors, Candy finds the strenght to start a revolution of the mind, body and spirit.

Moccasin Flats : Season Two - Drama – English – 8 x 30

In the heart of the urban reservation known as Moccasin Flats, ex-pimp and drug dealer, Jonathon Bearclaw has turned a new leaf. He has reunited with his girlfriend Tara and his son Ethan. With a renewed sense of purpose, Jonathon has opened a home business and has made his family and his community top priority. His weekly visits with Corporal Strongeagle are proving to be a successful part of his rehabilitation, and he is two months away from being cleared of charges held against him by his ex-employee and reformed prostitute Candy Foster. Life has taken a turn for the better and everyone has opened their arms to the new and improved Jonathon, with the exception of Jonathon’s long time arch-nemesis, Mathew Merasty.

Mathew is an upstanding community member who teaches drum classes to youth, runs a home-based recording studio and has always had problems with thugs like Jonathon. Mathew is always acutely aware of where Jonathon is and what he is doing, convinced he is living a lie, waiting to catch him in the act. To Mathew’s dismay, the community has embraced Jonathon, his family and his commitment to a new life.

But Jonathon begins to unravel when business responsibilities start piling up, unpaid bills, GST remittances and unhappy suppliers leave him in debt and practically unemployed. Can Jonathon take the pressures of the legitimate life? Will he be able to stave off the craving of easy money from the streets, and continue to be a legitimate businessman? Could Mathew’s suspicions that a leopard never changes its spots be accurate? What lengths would Jonathon go to for his family and his business? What lengths would Mathew go to for his business? Could it be that they have more in common than either of them ever dreamed could be possible?

Watch the mystery unfold as Jonathon walks the fine line between crime and community on the new season of Moccasin Flats. The drama continues every Monday beginning January 3rd, on APTN.
